Skulduggery Pleasant Fanfiction Chapter 26

When she had woken up and had her breakfast, Skulduggery took Valkyrie to Chione's house. They knocked the door and Chione answered, Fully dressed.
"Oh, hello Valkyrie, Skulduggery" Chione beamed.
"Hey Chione, How are you doing?" Valkyrie asked.
"A bit tired, I stayed up watching the Walking Dead until about 1" Chione laughed.
"Oh yeah, the Walking Dead is great. I'm on Season 2 or 3."
"I just finished Season 1 so don't spoil anything!"
"I won't, but it gets so much better."
"Why would you want to watch a TV show about the walking dead when you're standing next to THE most famous and most handsome walking dead person there is. That you see almost every day." Skulduggery said.
"Cause they're zombies and they eat people." Valkyrie replied.
"Why would you want to be a zombie with all that rotten flesh, not to mention the smell. Remember Scapegrace?"
"Oh yeah...you have a point there..."
"Who's Scapegrace?" Chione said, confused.
"Just an annoying guy that called himself the "Killer Supreme" who got turned into a zombie and became the zombie king. He's a women now, right?" Valkyrie turned to Skulduggery.
"Yes, and he fairly enjoys it apparently."
"He's really weird and annoying and i hope you don't have the...pleasure...of meeting him." Valkyrie said, turning back to Chione who looked even more confused.
"Right..."
"Anyway, Valkyrie, why don't you tell her why we actually came here?" Skulduggery suggested.
"Ah, yes. We need some hep with the decorations for tomorrow night and...well, you're probably the best at it."
"I would love to!" Chione said excitedly.
"Great!", Valkyrie exclaimed, "this is going to be amazing."
"Well, we better get going then." Skulduggery urged.
They got into the Bently and drove to Gordon's house. Valkyrie went straight up to her uncle's study and brought down the Echo Stone. She placed it on the cradle in the center of the ballroom and the hologram of Gordon flickered to life. He looked at them all, eyes landing on Chione last.
"Hello there, and who may you be?"
"This is Chione, remember i told you about her, Uncle?"
"Oh yes,the eldest of the Element Four. You look beautiful my dear.
"Oh, thank you Mr..." Chione blushed.
"Call me Gordon.
"Alright...Gordon." Chione smiled.
"Chione is going to help us decorate."
"Ah good, us men aren't good at the...delicate things,"
"Speak for yourself, Gordon, I happen to be great at making decorations." Skulduggery announced.
"Ok then. How about the three of you make decorations and i'll choose who is better at making them."
"Challenge accepted." Skulduggery crossed his arms.
"Me too" Chione Jumped
"And me" Valkyrie added.
"Good, let the competition begin, you have three hours.. Oh and by the way, no magic."
"Awwwwww" all three of them said in unison.
"But the decorations would be made so much quicker and i would definitely win." Chione smirked
"I know, Chione. That is precisely why there is no magic allowed. It would be unfair to Valkyrie and Skulduggery who would lose by a landslide.
"Hey!" Valkyrie said and Skulduggery mumbled something under his breath.
Skulduggery sighed, "Well i suppose we better get started then, ladies."
They separated and went to different ends of the ballroom.
"By the way Gordon, where do we get materials for this...?" Valkyrie asked
All of them now realizing they have nothing to make decorations with.
"Ah" Skulduggery said.
"Oh i've got bits and bobs dotted around the house." He smiled mischievously.
Valkyrie and Skulduggery suddenly bolted out of the ballroom and up the stairs. Chione stared after them.
"I knew this would happen, my dear, so i stashed all the best supplies in that compartment in the wall over there."
He pointed to the section in front of her. She walked over and pushed the square in the pattern of the wall. It opened to reveal different colors of paper, paint, glitter, sequence, some scissors and some other materials.
"I've never been in your house, Gordon, so i wouldn't have stood a chance", She smiles, "Thank you"
"I know, you're very welcome. My niece and friend are such cheats." He chuckled.
Chione laughed and took as many materials as she could carry to the area beside Gordon and put them down, then went back for the rest. She sat cross-legged on the floor and started to cut crepe paper into semi-circles to make petals. She cut a circle out of the white paper and dipped the petals in blue glitter and stuck them onto the circle creating a crepe-paper flower."
"That looks beautiful, Chione." Gordon said, over-looking her work.
She smiled and kept making more.
"I wonder where the other two have disappeared off to" Gordon muttered to himself.

Valkyrie and Skulduggery ran up the stairs, Skulduggery taking two at a time and Valkyrie following behind him. Valkyrie rushed into the study and Skulduggery went in the opposite direction. Valkyrie opened the secret door and found a box of glitter. She smiled. She walked back out just as Skulduggery ran out with a box of paint. He crashed into her as they met at the top of the stairs. Skulduggery fell to the ground and Valkyrie stumbled ontop of him.
"Ow..." He said.
Valkyrie moaned and lifted up her head then laughed.
"You know, pink really doesn't suit you Skulduggery." She said as she got up.
Skulduggery frowned and looked at himself, covered in pink paint and glitter.
"Oh hell" He huffed.
"Somehow, none of it got on me." She said as she inspected her arms.
"Oh really? I see a spot right there on your back" He pointed and she turned her jacket round, not sensing the trick. He grabbed her arm and pulled her down ontop of him again and hugged her tightly, covering her in the paint and glitter.
"Skulduggery!" she laughed as she tried to push off of him.
"You suit pink too, Valkyrie" He teased.
"I do not, we both look much better in black."
"True." He grabbed a handful of black glitter and threw it at her.
She stared at him, mouth open.
"I wouldn't have my mouth open if i were you."
"Oh really?" She grabbed the black paint and poured it over his head.
He grabbed her and tackled her to the ground, covering her in the black paint too. They rolled around in the glitter and paint getting fully covered in it, laughing and making a mess of Gordon's mansion. Skulduggery got up and looked in the mirror, leaving Valkyrie gasping for breath on the floor.
"Oh god..."
"I know" She laughed breathlessly.
"I do suit pink, i look fabulous."
"Yup, told you."
"I need to get this off, I can't let Gordon see me like this."
"You really do." Valkyrie got up quickly and dragged Skulduggery down the stairs by his suit and into the ballroom where Chione was still making more of her flowers that had sparkly blue glitter. Valkyrie had seen enough glitter and paint for one day. Both of them turned to them and their mouths dropped.
"Alright, I will admit my defeat now." Chione laughed and collapsed on the floor.
"Yes, if they are the decorations for tomorrow evening it'll certainly get people's attention." Gordon mused.
"Haha..." Vakyrie said loudly and sarcastically.
"It was quite funny, Valkyrie..." Said Chione, now sitting up.
"Thank you, Chione, I'm glad you appreciate my humor. Anyway, my favorite niece, what happened to you two? attacked by glitter robots? gay giraffes? party pirates?"
"Nope, just Skulduggery." Valkyrie folded her arms.
"It wasn't totally my fault." He replied.
"You ran into me carrying the paint which went everywhere then the glitter i was carrying also exploded and we both fell right into it. I was just about to walk down the stairs and you came out of nowhere and knocked me over."
"I didn't come out of nowhere, i came out of the bedroom and ok, it was mostly my fault."
Valkyrie looked at him, a glint in her eyes.
"Ok, ok! it was completly my fault and I should have watched where i was going. I'm sorry i got you covered in pink and black paint and glitter."
"You have him wrapped around your little finger, Valkyrie." Gordon smirked.
"She does not!" Skulduggery insisted.
She turned to him again, glaring and he instantly shut up.
Gordon and Chione laughed.
"Well, i think it's safe to say that Chione won." Valkyrie looked over at the flowers.
"Yes, well done Chione. Would you stay and put them up with Valkyrie?"
"Of course i will." Chione smiled.
"Why only them?" Skulduggery asked.
"Because you're going to clean the mess you made." Gordon said sternly.
"Aww come on..." Skulduggery hung his head and walked back out of the ballroom.
They all tried not to laugh but failed. Chione went over to her work and held up one of the massive chains of flowers she made.
"Woah, you work fast." Valkyrie said, impressed.
"Yeah well, whilst you and Skulduggery were rolling around in paint and glitter together, i was doing this" Chione smirked.
Valkyrie smiled and helped Chione put the flower chains all around the room, attaching them to the walls with a nail gun that Chione had let Valkyrie be in charge of. She didn't know if that was a good or bad idea. Soon they were finished. The two girls went back to Gordon and looked at their hard work.
"Great job girls." Gordon clapped.
"Says the one who didn't do anything." Valkyrie said.
"Well i couldn't, i'm dead. I would have if i could.
"Mhmm..."
Just then Skulduggery slumped in looking really tired but less sparkly as he wiped off some of the glitter and paint but some still remained.
"Done..."
"Same here, partner."
He looked up and saw all the flowers. "Nice job"
"Thank you" Chione said cheerfully then yawned.
"I think that's a hint that we should all get some rest and de-glittered." Valkyrie smiled.
"I second that" Skulduggery groaned.
"Well, goodnight Gordon." Chione said.
"Goodnight Uncle." Valkyrie added.
"Goodnight girls, good work today. Get a good sleep and i'll see you tomorrow night." He smiled and disappeared.
"I'll just leave him down here since he'll be in the ballroom tomorrow anyway and he's in the cradle...too tired to go back upstairs..." Valkyrie yawned.
"Come on, let's get you two home." Skulduggery lead the two girl out to the car. He took Chione home and then headed back to his house with Valkyrie. They both had showers to get the rest of the glitter and paint off. Separately. Skulduggery carried Valkyrie to her bed like he had done the night before.
"Is this going to become a regular thing? because if it is i could really get used to it." Valkyrie smiled.
"Perhaps, perhaps not. Maybe i'm just in the holiday spirit."
"Uh-huh..."
"Is that so hard to believe?"
"Yes."
Skulduggery sighed, defeated. "Goodnight Valkyrie."
She smiled up at him. "Goodnight Skulduggery."
