Skulduggery Pleasant fanfic chapter 30

The other half of the party had made their way to Skulduggery's house, as it was the biggest. They all filed in, Saracen bringing up the rear and staying surprisingly quiet. Gracious, Donegan and Ghastly sat on the couch and Dexter and Trip took the armchairs. Skulduggery, Fletcher, Ravel and Saracen stood.
"So, what's for dinner?" Gracious asked. He had woken up on the ride back.
"Something eatable." Fletcher smirked.
"Right now, I would eat anything..." he wailed.
"How about Chinese?" Ravel suggested.
"No thanks, I couldn't stomach that, too filling." Ghastly added
"How about Pizza?" Flectcher said.
"Yeah, pizza would do." Donegan nodded.
"Who's paying?" Ravel asked.
Dexter was just about to say 'thanks for offering' again to annoy him when Skulduggery spoke up.
"I'll pay" he said.
"No Skulduggery, that's not fair. You can't even eat any." Fletcher protested.
"I'll pay for it." Saracen said at last, "It won't be enough to apologise for how I acted this evening but I hope it helps."
Everyone nodded apart from Trip. The gang had left their suits at Skulduggery's earlier that day. Anton's was still there but there had been no sign of him all night.
"Hey, has anyone seen Anton since this morning? I didn't even see him bring in his suit." Dexter said.
"I brought it in," Ravel replied, "He's working late at the hotel and will join us as soon as he can."
"Well, we better get enough pizza for him too then." Saracen smiled.
He went through to Skulduggery's hat room to order the pizza.
"I hate him" Trip blurted.
"We know. But Saracen has had a thing for Adra since she got here. He only found out recently that you were her boyfriend and backed off, slightly." Dexter added.
Trip sighed. "I know, but I think Adra is falling for him...you know what's he's like with women. Adra pretends that she's not one of those women who fall head over heels for his charm but she's been really distant recently."
He looked down at his hands. Everyone fell silent until Saracen walked back through to the living room.
"Pizza should be here in a few minutes."
"Good, i'm starving" Gracious groaned.
"You're always starving, Gracious." Donegan rolled his eyes.
"That's cause I never eat a lot and when I do we travel all over the world and I lose it all again."
"Skulduggery, you need more chairs." Fletcher complained
"For one, Fletcher I don't need more chairs, I don't normally have this many people in my house, just myself and Valkyrie. And secondly, there is a perfectly good carpet below your feet.
Fletcher grouchily sat down on the floor. "I need a seat...my feet are killing me from too much dancing."
"Fletcher, you do know it's a Christmas dance, don't you?" Ghastly chuckled.
"Well, yeah. Although I didn't expect Annabeth to be so lively..."
"Are you going to call her?" Ghastly asked quietly
Gracious and Donegan were too busy telling Dexter and Trip about their monster hunting adventures, Saracen and Skulduggery were in a world of their own and Ravel kept looking at his watch to see when Anton would show up.
"I don't know," Fletcher sighed solemnly, "I'll see what happens tonight"
"What are you waiting for?" Ghastly asked.
Fletcher just looked at him with a sad and thoughtful expression on his face and Ghastly finally caught on. "You want to know how things with Valkyrie go first?"
Fletcher nodded. Ghastly patted his back gently. Just then the door rang and Gracious sprung to his feet and bolted towards the door. He opened it and came face-to-face with Anton Shudder, holding the pizzas.
"Surprise" He grinned
Gracious grinned and snatched up the boxes of pizza and went back to eat them. Anton walked in after him.
"So, delivery boy, do I pay you instead?" Saracen smirked
"No it's alright, I already paid the delivery boy," Anton said, "Keep your pocket money, Saracen."
Everybody was now turned towards Anton smiling, apart from Gracious who was already onto his second slice.
"Hey Anton, you didn't miss much." Ravel said.
"Good to know" Anton took off his jacket and threw it over Ravel.
"Actually, you missed me beating Gracious in a drinking competition." Donegan announced proudly.
"Wow, now that is something." Anton said, sounding genuinely pleased for him.
Ravel huffed and hung up Anton's jacket then went over to the pizza, as did everyone else. Apart from Skulduggery who still stood staring out of the window. When everyone had finished eating they all got dressed. They all changed into their fancy black suits and wore different coloured ties. Ghastly's was yellow, Trip's was purple, Saracen's was silver, Ravel's was gold, Skulduggery's was deep red, Fletcher's was black, Gracious's was orange, Donegan's was pink, Anton's was green and Dexter's was royal blue. They all got back into the taxi, after Fletcher took around 20 minutes to get his hair sitting perfectly and they set off towards Gordon's house.

The limo parked outside of China's house as it was the biggest. The girls tumbled out and ran into the house.
"I'm starving" Valkyrie moaned
"You said it Val...me too"
"How about we order pizza?" China suggested.
"I'll pay this time" Adra smiled.
"Splended" China replied.
China went to order the pizza. The girls get out their dresses ready to get dressed. Clarabelle couldn't sit still, she was practically bouncing off of the walls.
"Will we do each others make-up?" she exclaimed suddenly.
"First off, calm down Clarabelle. Secondly, no." China said sternfully, shooting Clarabelle down.
That calmed Clarabelle down. In fact, she looked like a deflated balloon.
"Awww..." She said sadly as she sank back into her chair.
"Chione, how about you tell us about some of the adventures you've been on? you haven't told us anything about your past life"
Tanith crossed her legs and looked towards her and the other girls did the same.
"Um...well...that's because I want it to stay hidden..." Chione blushed.
"It's fine, you can tell us. We've all done terrible things, apart from maybe Adra." Valkyrie said.
"Oh, no. I've killed people too so it's fine." Adra replied happily.
Chione sighed "Alright. One time I was in Paris, when we were very young. I had spared a little girls life before and she let us stay with her. She gave us a lot of food, and because my sisters were tortured and starved they ate a lot. And I mean a lot. We spent a week there trying to find our target so as you can expect, they gained a little weight. When we did find our target, we tried to sneak into the location via the air vents because we were small, we were around 9 and 10 at the time. Unfortunately, because they ate so much, when they tried to get through the vents their asses got stuck!"
The girls started laughing.
"What happened to your target? did he get away?" Tanith asked
"Well, it took around half an hour to get all three of them out of the vents then we thought it best to just walk through the front door. We killed everyone in the building, Including our target. But my sisters certainly learned their lessons."
"I really can't imagine your sisters as chubby children, Chione" Valkyrie giggled.
"Neither could I, they were all so skinny up until that moment. I obviously took a few minutes to laugh at them stuck there before trying to help them out." Chione laughed.
"That's a given" Adra smiled
China came back through and raised an eyebrow at everyone laughing.
"I always miss all the fun..."
"It wasn't that funny anyway China, don't worry." Chione smiled.
"Hmm...clearly, anyway, the pizza will be here soon."
"Yay! pizza!" Clarabelle cheered.
Valkyrie's stomach rumbled "Pizza..."
Tanith laughed and nudged Valyrie. Val nudged her back a little harder. Tanith pushed Valkyrie off of the couch. Valkyrie picked up a pillow and hit Tanith over the head with it. Tanith picked up the other pillow and hit her so hard she flew across to the other side of the room.
China sighed "Why is it always my home being destroyed?" and walked back out.
Clarabelle picked up a pillow and decided to join in too. She tried of hit Valkyrie and got flung into the door.
"Owch" she muttered.
Chione looked at Adra and she looked back. They nodded, picking up pillows and ran at each other from opposite sides of the living room. Clarabelle sat on the ground, singing to herself softly, maybe hit her head a little too hard.  Adra came at Chione and at the last second, she side-stepped and Adra went straight into Tanith. Tanith started attacking Adra and Valkyrie started fighting Chione.
"Remember this, Valkyrie?"
"Yeah, you and your sisters beat us up."
"You didn't do too badly yourselves."
Adra and Valkyrie went to one side of the room, Chione ad Tanith at the other. They charged at each other and just before they impacted, the door rang.
Valkyrie lunged at the door "Pizza!", She opened the door. "Hi there, pizza please"
The delivery boy smiled and gave the two pizzas over. "That'll be £25."
Adra came over and payed the guy. China came back through just as he was leaving.
"Oh, pizza's here. Fantastic."
The poor boy was almost drooling as Adra slammed the door on his face.
"Ok, let's eat" Valkyrie said hungrily
Adra put the pizza down on the table and the girls dug in. When all the pizza was gone, the girls got ready. Valkyrie put on her little black dress which came with black silk gloves and sparkly black heels. The dress was slim and fell to just below her knees. Tanith wore a yellow embellished dress with silver heels. Adra wore a simple purple dress with a black bow at her waist with purple pumps and a silver purse. Clarabelle wore a poofy pink dress with pink sandals. Chione was dressed in her royal blue sparkly dress with blue sparkly heels with white silk gloves. Finally China, who wore her blood red dress with a low neck line and a slit up the leg, finished off with her red stiletto heels that could easily be used as a weapon if she wanted them to be. The girls got back into the limo and made their way to Gordon's house.
